Drama Workshops
MAP initiated a series of workshops which were used as a
means of initiating the plot for Rootless. 30 people aged between 7 and 70 participated from a diverse cultural
background with a wide range of experience and skills in this three day drama workshop. In this they explored their
experiences and reactions within the London community as a result of the tensions and hostility that arose after the tragic
July 7th bombings. This workshop was used as a key instrument in developing the initial ideas and concepts for the film
in order to create a stark sense of realism from the primary stages of development. As a result of this workshop many
participants are now employed in theatrical productions and TV dramas.
